SunSense - High Factor Sun Protection
SUNSENSE is the number 1 sunscreen range in Australia and helps protect against the damaging effects of the sun. A recent survey demonstrated that SUNSENSE is preferred and recommended by more than 8 out of 10 skin specialists when more than 100 were asked about sun protection.
SUNSENSE provides high factor, broad spectrum protection against both UVB and UVA rays, which are known to cause burning, premature skin ageing and to increase the risk of skin cancers.
SUNSENSE is available through an expanding range of retail outlets or on-line direct from Crawford – just follow the links below.

Being SUNSENSIBLE
All SUNSENSE sunscreens are formulated with great care. They contain a physical blocker (soothing titanium dioxide) with low levels of UV absorbing ingredients to achieve very high SPFs. That means SUNSENSE provides greater protection with less chance of irritation.
To obtain the best protection, it’s best to combine SUNSENSE with common sense. Here are 10 sun-protection tips we recommend you follow:
- Minimise sun exposure between the hours of 11 am and 3 pm when the sun is strongest
- When out in the sun, apply SUNSENSE to all exposed areas of skin. Also wear a broad brimmed hat and a T-shirt of closely woven material
- SUNSENSE should be applied to clean dry skin 15 minutes prior to exposure. This allows the sunscreen to bond to the skin
- Sunscreens wear off with normal usage, so reapply SUNSENSE at least every 2 hours or after swimming, exercise, heavy perspiration and towelling dry
- Apply SUNSENSE even when sitting in the shade. Surfaces such as sand, water, snow and concrete can reflect the sun’s rays onto your skin
- Sports lovers are particularly at risk. So much so, the Australian Institute of Sport recommends the use of SUNSENSE to their athletes. Apply SUNSENSE before any outdoor activity – this also extends to gardening
- Use SUNSENSE during high altitude activities such as skiing and mountain climbing. High altitude increases the risk of sunburn, as there is less atmosphere to absorb the sun’s rays
- Don’t just wear SUNSENSE in summer. The sun can damage your skin even on typically British overcast days
- Using SUNSENSE every day, particularly on your face and the backs of your hands helps prevent dry leathery skin, wrinkles, mottling and other signs of premature ageing, as well as the more serious problems of skin cancer
- Explain the necessity of sun protection to your children – it may save their lives
